The goal of this page is to collect interesting Internet written works.
Tech blogs
(If none of these are new to you, then I guess you’re just not in today’s lucky ten thousand. Sorry!)
- Dan Luu.
- The Digital Antiquarian – a history of computer gaming. I recommend starting at the beginning: I’ve stopped keeping current, but I got many hours of interesting reading before dropping off.
- Julia Evans.
- Kalzumeus is the blog of Patrick McKenzie (a.k.a. patio11).
- Paul Graham.
- rachelbythebay.
- Rico Mariani.
- Steve Yegge’s blog has moved around several times. In chronological order: Stevey’s Drunken Blog Rants, Stevey’s Blog Rants, and his Medium page. Unfortunately, his Google+ posts seem to be lost to the sands of time.
I still use the basics from his Effective Emacs. Other highlights: Execution in the Kingdom of Nouns, Next Big Language (spoiler: it was JavaScript, and this was a surprise at the time), Rich Programmer Food (about why you should study compilers in college), Get That Job At Google, and Notes from the Mystery Machine Bus (about “software politics”) - Stratechery “provides analysis of the strategy and business side of technology and media, and the impact of technology on society.” There is also Exponent, the author’s podcast on similar topics.
